Daylesford Macedon Ranges Open Studios
31st October -1st November, 7 - 8 November, 14 -15 November 2015
Welcome to DMROS 2015 and our fourth celebration of the Daylesford Macedon Ranges arts community.
The three weeks of DMROS 2014 went by in a flash in November and still hardly seemed long enough to spend time with all the talented artists in the program, while the workings of their studios were on display. The beautiful country of the Daylesford Macedon Ranges region sung with creativity – irrespective of the weather.
Thank you to all of you who came to explore and absorb the skills and beauty of our creative practises and our region- 4,200 plus studio visits as far as we can ascertain. We can’t be sure of the exact number of visits as such was the lure of the happenings inside the studios that sometimes visitor books were left unsigned!
We are glad that you enjoyed our Studio Discovery Tours with our DMROS Chief Guide & Driver Brad, who ably escorted groups to studios far and wide according to their whim. Such was the success of this new venture that we will be extending the tours in 2015, including meeting the Melbourne train.
Much as you will have appreciated the talent of the artists, you may not have heard that during the span of the 2014 program alone, two Trentham artists were awarded prizes – David Bryant as a finalist in the Blake Prize; and Matthew Harding as both the winning award for the Australian Turkish Friendship Memorial for Anzac Day 2015 and the 2014 McClelland Sculpture Award.
We are now calling for artist applications for the program in 2015. Each year we introduce new artists to the program as more creative people move to the region and are inspired by its nature and ethos. Download the Guidelines & Artist Application Form below. Closing date for 2015 Applications is Friday 1 May 2015.
